In a newly published analysis by MJBiz, cannabis sales are projected to generate more than $100 billion in US economic impact in 2023. The impact is anticipated to increase by another 12.5% in 2024 and is projected to increase by 41% from 2023 to 2028. 

California has awarded nearly $20 million to 16 state universities to research many cannabis issues and compounds. These research matters include cannabis and mental health, delta-8, delta-10, and the first cannabis study on legacy genetics.

While the cannabis market took a dip in 2022, the forecast still shows growth in the long term.
