What’s New with Cocannco: April 2023

Summary of Updates

  • Nonaccredited investors are well-positioned to fill the vacuum in the cannabis space.

  • Introducing a new Reg D offering open to nonaccredited investors

  • The short-term investment opportunity in Clearly California is still available

Why it’s a nonaccredited investor’s market

We tested multiple offerings and discovered our most recent Reg D offering, limited to only accredited investors, wasn’t appropriate for the market. While it was a good short-term solution, it didn’t work well with all the doom and gloom in the media about cannabis. Cocannco found that there is far more interest from nonaccredited investors than accredited.

Current market performance has accredited investors hesitant to invest. But just like with any other new market, you're set up for success if you’ve got the right situation, companies, and players. This is where nonaccredited investors tend to have a more savvy market assessment. With all the projections pointing towards overall growth in the US cannabis industry over the next seven years, it’s about picking the right companies to invest in.

Companies with minimal asset requirements – like Cocannco’s target investment, Clearly California – are investments with reduced risk as compared to cannabis companies with heavy asset involvement and fixed overhead. This allows the business to operate with more flexibility and fluctuations in margins.

Introducing Cocannco’s new Reg D offering

Despite all the interest in investing with Cocannco, we haven’t been able to accept nonaccredited investors until now. Our new Reg D 506(b) offering is available to nonaccredited investors on a first-come, first-serve basis.
